The 2018 World Artificial Intelligence Conference was held in Shanghai, China in September 2018, with the theme of "Artificial Intelligence Empowers a New Era". It aimed to build a global platform for cooperation and exchange in artificial intelligence.
The conference invited over 10 world-leading AI scientists (including Turing Award laureates), 50 Chinese and foreign academicians, 100 young leading experts, as well as 100 CEOs of global industry giants to participate. Jack Ma of Alibaba Group and Jeff Dean, Head of Google AI, both attended the conference.
The event attracted more than 40,000 distinguished guests and a total of 170,000 participant and visitor attendances from over 40 countries.
